Be bold in sharing Jesus with others!

Recently Richard Roberts was having a conversation with someone about how important it is for us to share Jesus with others, and give them the opportunity to enter into a personal relationship with Him.

“How do you do that?” I was asked. “How do you bring the conversation around to Jesus?”

One of the best ways I’ve found is to watch for opportunities to tell the person you’re talking to about something God has done for you personally. Jesus told us that we’re to be His “witnesses” (Acts 1:8). According to the dictionary, a witness is simply someone who has personal knowledge of something. That tells me that anyone who knows Jesus personally has both the right and the responsibility to share the simple message of the Gospel with others.

I, Richard Roberts,  believe that the Great Commission gives us great authority. In Mark 16:15 nkjv, when Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,” He was expressing His great faith in our ability to tell others about Him.

So be bold in sharing your personal testimony of what Jesus has done and is doing for you. I believe it’s one of the most important things you can do to win someone to the Lord.

And when we witness to people about Jesus, I believe we must always deal with them compassionately…as Jesus has dealt with us. It’s important that we help others see their need for a Savior to forgive them of their sins and give them eternal life, but we need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit in how we do that.

We don’t have to jam Jesus down people’s throats. We don’t have to hit them over the head and say, “You’re going to get saved today!” We don’t have to stand on the corner and yell, “Repent!” Jesus said in John 12:32 that when He is lifted up, He will draw people to Himself. You can ask His Holy Spirit to help you in your witnessing, and be sensitive to the way He may lead you in each individual instance. And as you do, you have a right to expect a miracle.

As you work to take care of what’s most important to God, I believe He will work in your behalf and take care of what’s important to you. So be bold in your witnessing and in your expecting a miracle, in Jesus’ name.

He who wins souls is wise.

—Proverbs 11:30 nkjv
