Holy Spirit leads us by Richard Roberts

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS Richard kept turning off the tape and saying, “Now catch your breath.” I said, “You’re not supposed to do it like this.”  I quit.  I give up.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS From–you’ll get a little bit more of it tonight.  You know, you just had a baby.  Give yourself a break. Fresno, California.  “A year and a half ago I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior through your program.  This Sunday I am being baptized at my church.  I am so excited”–now I want you to notice this.  Here is a person who attends church who never received Jesus as their personal Savior.  Oh, I wish more pastors at the closing of their service would stop and give an invitation and give people an opportunity to receive Christ as your Savior.

Pastors, if you’re listening to me, don’t let anybody intimidate you or stop you from giving an altar call in your services and receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior for your people.  Don’t be ashamed.  Don’t let somebody talk you out of that.  “This Sunday I’m being baptized at my church.  I’m so excited. I’m 57 years old, having never been baptized.  And I called today to share this joyous occasion with you and to thank you for your ministry that brought me to Jesus Christ.”  I thank God you received Christ.

You pastors, don’t be ashamed to give people an opportunity to receive Christ at the end of your services, or at the beginning, or in the middle, whenever the Holy Spirit leads you. Sometimes we pray for people’s salvation right before, just as we’re starting the program.  Lindsay, from San Jose, California.  “I watched your program.  You had a word of knowledge about someone’s right arm being healed.  I’ve had arthritis so severely that I could hardly raise my arm.  But as the word came forth, all the pain left.  I am completely healed.  I can raise and move my arms now without any pain whatsoever.  Thank God, God has healed me.”

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS I’ve got one.  Mine is somewhat the same. Mine is arthritis too. This lady called in from, is that Lawrence, Michigan.  And she said she was healed while she was watching your program, the same thing. You had said somebody was being healed in their arm and their wrist. She said, “I had so much arthritis in my arm and wrist, and when you prayed,” she said, “praise God, I want to report with you, all the pain has gone.”  And she said–oh, bless her heart–the note from the prayer partner says that she had just given her heart to Jesus. Praise God.  Boy, that’s a double miracle, getting your heart saved and your body healed all at once.  That’s a miracle.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS You gave a word the other day, Lindsay, from God about, well, let’s see, “Since Lindsay gave that word about someone’s hip being healed”–remember that the other day?–”who had a burning sensation in the hip, since then my hip has been healed.”  Fairfax, Virginia. Let’s see, there’s another one I wanted to read here somewhere.  Oh, which one was it?  Here. Here, right here.  From, yeah it was a back healing from, from Garland, Texas.  But this one from Chicago is the one I really want to read.  “Richard, three months ago you encouraged me on television to call the Abundant Life Prayer Group about my suicidal thoughts.  I did.  One of your prayer partners”—now here we are in the midst of the Abundant Life Prayer Group–”One of your prayer partners prayed a powerful prayer.”  Now that’s a good word. When these prayer partners that you see seated behind us and also in other places in this building and up in the Prayer Tower, when they pray for you, they pray a powerful prayer. They’re all filled with the Holy Spirit.  They know how to pray. “They prayed a powerful prayer and I was set free.  When I feel a little depressed now, I start praising God and victory comes.”  I thank God for the Abundant Life Prayer Group.
