Gifts of Healings of Richard Roberts

Gifts of Healings of Richard Roberts

And your dad shared something with me. He said, “Terry, the Bible teaches about the gifts of healings. Gifts is plural and healings is plural.” (Yes, it is) And he said, “There are many different delivery systems that God brings healing,” and that’s why we’ve got this beautiful City of Faith here. This is bringing healing to the sick. Your ministry is bringing healing to the sick. My ministry is bringing healing to the sick, all different delivery systems. And that’s why I’m so tied in with the program here. I’m so excited about the university and what God’s doing in the hospital.

We’re saying something to the nation. We’re letting the nation know that God is a healing God. He’s reaching out. He’s touching you. He’s ministering to you right now where you are. And there’s a healing power. Right now this program is dedicated to healing. This young man, the anointing and ministry of God, the touch of God on his life, is dedicated to reach out and touch you. And God’s doing it today. Praise God for that.

You know, Terry, I am reminded. I said it’s not in the Bible, but as you talk I’m reminded of the Scripture where it says, “He sent his word and healed them.” (Amen) Now that’s what we’re doing today on this program. We’re sending forth God’s Word. We’re not bringing you our words. We’re bringing you the Word of God. (Amen, praise the Lord) And the Bible says that the Word of God will not come back void. God watches over His Word to perform it.

And God’s Word, the Bible says in Hebrews 4:12, is alive and full of power. It’s active. It’s active in your life. You say, well I don’t feel His power. Well, friend, just stay tuned. 2In a moment we’re going to pray. And when we pray, I’m expecting something to begin in your life. I really am. (Amen) Terry, you said that you are tied into this ministry, and I believe you are. You and I have known each other since we attended Oral Roberts University. You’ve been around the world many times preaching the gospel.

And I wish you’d share an experience that has just happened. You’ve taken teams, evangelistic teams throughout the world, especially behind the Iron Curtain. You probably have had more success for Jesus behind the Iron Curtain than anyone I know. And something happened this week. One of your team members, a Soviet citizen, was killed in a plane crash in Russia.

There’s been very little, virtually nothing said about it in the news. But you received word, some special word, and I wish you’d share about that and let the people know and call us to pray for it.

You Can Know His Resurrection Power!

You Can Know His Resurrection Power!by Richard Roberts

In this world, we all experience trouble. But Jesus didn’t leave us without hope. In John 16:33 AMP, He also told us that we could take heart because, I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

We have a living Savior, and Easter means we can have resurrection. Jesus was raised from the dead so the things in your life and mine that need to be resurrected or healed could be raised up by the power of Jesus! If you don’t know Jesus and His resurrection power, you can pray this simple prayer from your heart:

Lord Jesus, come into my heart and forgive my sins. I surrender my life to You. I lay my life down at the Cross, and I receive You as my Savior, my Healer, my Deliverer, and the Lord of my whole life. Amen.

Let It Go!

Of all the necessities I have in my kitchen, my roll of plastic wrap is probably one of the least harmful. It’s clear…you can see through it. It’s thin and pliable…easy to work with. Pretty harmless stuff, right? But if you take that clear, thin plastic wrap and wrap it around someone, covering them from head to toe, it doesn’t take long to realize that what appeared to be harmless in small amounts can be binding and crippling when it’s allowed to take over your life. Something similar can happen when we begin to rely on the world instead of relying on God’s Word. Richard Roberts and I believes in the Word of God. When faced with a crisis, many of us go to the phone instead of God’s throne to get advice from people who can do absolutely nothing about our problem. Or we sit in front of the TV, soaking up bad news, “reality” shows, and all the “my-baby-done-me-wrong” programs that are out there…not to mention video games and internet sites that are not edifying, to say the least. What starts out small, simple, and innocent can quickly entrap us. And pretty soon we’re bound up in stinking garbage—layer upon seemingly innocent layer—and we didn’t even smell it coming!
The sad fact is, too often we give a lot of time and attention to stuff that doesn’t even matter. And when God comes along with a miracle meant for us, we’re so bound up with junk that we can’t receive it.

Let Go of the Junk

The junk in our lives has got to go. If we’re not free to receive God’s miracles, they can pass us by. We can’t go forward into His blessing when we’re filled with bitterness and resentment. And God holds us accountable to let go of the garbage that’s binding us and holding us back. Richard Roberts and I believe that God wants us to have the blessing of Abraham, but it’s up to us to receive it. The blessing—which was given to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3 and passed down through the generations—means absolutely nothing missing, nothing broken, the most blessed and most prosperous. It means increase in every dimension. Wouldn’t you like to live with no sickness, no disease, no sorrow, no grief, no problems, no lack?

The Bible says in Deuteronomy 28:2-6 that when we keep all of God’s commandments, we will be blessed in every dimension as Abraham was. Abraham lived in abundance in every area of his life…in fact, the most abundance of anyone who had existed up to that time. Abraham knew that the secret to receiving God’s blessing was to obey Him (Hebrews 11:8). When Abraham heard God’s voice telling him what He wanted him to do, he obeyed. That’s a man of faith. And faith is what God wants from us. Without even realizing it, many of us put our faith in our wallet, in our employer, in our friends. We forget that our faith should be in the One who hung on the Cross so that we could receive the blessing of Abraham. Today the blessing of Abraham is ours. Galatians 3:9 NLT says, All who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.

Receive God’s Blessing

What is binding you today? What in your life started out as harmless, and now has become like layers upon layers of plastic wrapped around your soul? It’s time to let it go! Begin to peel off those layers with the Word of God and and with prayer. And when you’re free, begin getting into position to receive the wonderful blessings that I believe God has waiting for you!

A Piece of Fabric

Sometimes we don’t obey God because it’s inconvenient or because our flesh doesn’t like what He’s asking us to do. But I Samuel 15:22 says, To obey is better than sacrifice. When God asks us to do something, He’s trying to get a wonderful blessing to us. Yet sometimes we let the dumbest things stand between us and our obedience.

I’ll give you an example. When I came to Oral Roberts University as a student, I knew God had called me here, but I didn’t know there was a dress code. I came from a beach town in Florida where we wore sandals all the time. I mean, dressing up meant changing from old flip-flops to new ones.

I didn’t even own a dress, and I found out I was expected to wear one every day! As soon as I heard that news, I called my mother in Florida and said, “Mama, I’m coming home!” She said, “Why?” And I answered indignantly, “Because they say I have to wear a dress every day. I’m not using my hard-earned money to buy a dress!”

My mother, wise woman that she is, answered calmly, “Lindsay, do you mean to tell me that you’re going to let a piece of fabric come between you and the call of God on your life?” Well, when she put it that way, what could I say? She mailed me some skirts and told me, “You just stay there and let God talk to you.”

So I did. And it wasn’t long before I met and married Richard Roberts, which was God’s plan for me. Imagine how sad it would have been if I’d let dresses keep me from that plan. Don’t let anything stand between you and obeying God. Richard Roberts and I believes that obedience can bring God’s marvelous blessings into your life.
